Proving American Indian Ancestry

Is there a DNA test can be done to prove Native American ancestry?
My maternal grandmother was raised an Indian reserve or near Georgia, but the birth certificates were made to look like she was white. Consequently, my mother and I are also listed in white. I try to prove my heritage and find a way to receive financial assistance for my studies. My uncle told my mother that DNA testing was available and he took one and was able to prove his ancestry and get help for her daughter suffering from paralysis brain. Can I really do this? Or should I not have my hopes up? Thank you.
no. your uncle may have found help for her daughter, but it was not due to a DNA test shows that the native DNA. it is not acceptable proof of Aboriginal heritage. you need proof documented. Aboriginal receive health care to government standards, with more to be spent on a prisoner of an Aboriginal person. to that there would be special help out there for a disabled child looks nice, but it is not available to people because they are native, thats for sure.
