American Indian Dna Tests
What is the most detailed and accurate ethnic DNA test available on the market?
My sister took one and it sounded, incorrect or something. SO we’ve grown up our entire lives knowing we were native american, but this test said we were Mestizo and Central American, but I check on this website “Warrior Roots” and they claim its currently impossible to distinguish genetically between the indigenous peoples of North, Central, and South America. Its very different to grow up knowing yourself to be cherokee and blackfoot and instead to find out you could be like Mayan or Inca or something like that, I just want to find the best test currently available and take it myself to see if they corroborate. Also any idea if its true that a test wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between an American Indian and a Native Mexican?
NO DNA test will tell you what tribe you descend from. But tracing your ancestry will.
And “knowing” you are Native doesn’t really count as “knowing” unless you’ve done your family tree. Sorry kid, but it seems everyone these days has a family myth about how their “great-great grandma was a Cherokee princess”, or “was Blackfoot”. The majority of these claims are false, especially when you supposedly have both.
